Apponyi Castle Hotel ****
Location
The baroque castle is located in Hogyesz, in south-western Hungary, the beautiful Tolna county. It was named after the former owner, the Apponyi Family, and built between 1722 and 1727 (according to other resources in the 1760’s). The hotel is situated at the middle of a 12-acre large park, which provides relaxing and calm surroundings.

During the renovation in 2001, 31 guestrooms were created with preserving the monumental character of the castle. About 80 metres away from the castle there is another building, the Skandinavian style Elizium building, where 29 rooms are available. 24-hour reception, closed parking lot, elevator, laundry, internet corner, beauty parlour, hairdresser, pedicure, manicure, restaurant and café serve guests’ comfort. Four elegant rooms are suitable for conferences and family events, which are named after excellent composers, Liszt, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, who used to be friends of the Apponyi Family.
Rooms
The basic equipment is the same in both buildings, it contains a bathroom, hairdryer, television, minibar and telephone, most rooms are non-smoking. The rooms in the modern Elizium building reflect discreet simplicity, their bathroom is equipped with a bathtub. The Elizium Superior rooms have a balcony or terrace, too. The Elizium Apartments consist of a balcony, a living room and a bedroom, extra bed can be put into the room. All rooms of the Castle building are furnished to fit into the building’s authentic, antique style. The Castle Standard rooms (18-30 m2) have a bathroom with shower, while the bathroom in the Castle Superior rooms (30-43 m2) is equipped with shower or bathtub, extra bed can be put into the room. Castle Apartments (40-60 m2) have a balcony, a living room and a bedroom, their bathroom is equipped either with shower or a bathtub. Rooms for the disabled are available in the Castle building. Room service from 7:00 am till 22:00 pm in the Castle building.
